Multiple People Shot at Howe Park Sacramento — Large Unauthorized Party Turns Violent
Late Saturday evening, a large unauthorized party of hundreds of people at the Howe Park area in the Arden-Arcade area of Sacramento ended in a shooting when an estimated 20 to 25 gunshots filled the air as law enforcement officers were attempting to removing people from the park.
How It Unfolded
Around 6:30 in the evening, the SCSO received reports regarding persons reportedly carrying concealed firearms at the Arden-Arcade park. A second report described a potential physical confrontation and people leaving the area quickly.
A sheriff's helicopter was called in and surveyed the area from above but was unable to locate any ongoing altercation.
At the same time, a large crowd had come together at Howe Community Park for what officials called an unlawful gathering. Deputies encircled the park, activated emergency lights, and used roughly 15 minutes instructing attendees to vacate the area over their vehicle speakers.
While deputies were dispersing the crowd, 20 to 25 gunshots filled the night air — triggering a panicked crowd in every direction.
Victims of the Shooting
Four individuals — one female and three males, all believed to be in their 20s — were taken to nearby hospitals. Two sustained immediate injuries, one victim had moderate injuries, and one suffered injuries classified as minor. All four victims were stable.
